Jan. 17, 2019 -- Bryant Lewis, a senior at Olathe East High School, has been named the 2019 Linwood Sexton Scholar at Wichita State. Lewis will receive a full ride to attend WSU as a business management major starting this fall.

Jan. 15, 2019 -- Wichita State University’s College of Applied Studies awarded five high school seniors the Doris and Ralph Klose Endowed Scholarship.

Jan 11, 2019 - Past recipient of the Clay Barton Endowed Scholarship and current Master of Innovation Design student, Bailey Bryand, believes in order for one to improve, one must innovate themselves. He has lived by this philosophy throughout his high school, college and professional career.

Nov. 6, 2018 -- WSU student Tammy Dorsey created the Pedi-Cell, a diagnostic tool that can detect fetal acidosis.

Oct. 16, 2018 -- Wichita State professor David McDonald and graduate assistant Alisha Prince are trying to change the world, one mouth at a time. The team is teaming up with Ocean Spray to research synergistic properties contained in cranberries and other natural extracts that will, in theory, stop the decay of teeth and provide an alternative to traditional oral health care.

Oct. 5, 2018 -- Retired Lt. Colonel Larry Burks is the new director of Military and Veteran Services at Wichita State University.

Oct. 2, 2018 -- Wichita State University has been awarded $813,000 to boost enrollment and retention of students under-represented in science, technology, engineering and math. The funds are part of a larger $3 million, five-year National Science Foundation grant awarded to Kansas State University, which is sharing grant funds with a statewide coalition of universities and community colleges.

Sept. 28, 2018 -- Cynthia Matson's time at Wichita State has shaped the student she is today. The business major is vice president of the Barton International Group, a student run consulting firm through the Barton School of Business at WSU.

Sept. 27, 2018 - Zane Storlie, a junior majoring in computer science at Wichita State, has received a $10,000 a year scholarship from High Touch, a Wichita technology company. The scholarship is renewable and honors the memory of Pat Riddle, a WSU alumna and former High Touch employee.

Wichita State's Professional Edge Program gives students the tools to lead and participate in meetings, choose a mentor and identify their work-skill.

Aug. 24, 2018 -- Butler Community College business administration students who graduate with an associate degree are now able to seamlessly transfer into Wichita State University's W. Frank Barton School of Business.

Aug. 9, 2018 - Wichita State University set a new record for total research and development awards in fiscal year 2018 with a total of $104.5 million, increasing awards by more than $14 million and achieving gains in most funded departments.

Dorothy and Bill Cohen have pledged a gift of $2.5 million to the Honors College at Wichita State University, just three years after they gave $5 million to help the College deliver a rigorous educational experience for highly ambitious students.
